Julian Paul Keenan, PhD
The Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory was founded in 2001 when Julian Paul Keenan arrived at Montclair State University from Harvard Medical School. The goal has and will always be to determine how and why the self evolved in the human brain.

Located in Montclair, New Jersey, in the Department of Biology at Montclair State University, the Cognitive Neuroimaging Lab searches for the truth with the best students and collaborators, all of whom continue to teach and pass on what they know. As we have furthered the field of knowledge, it is our obligation to pass such knowledge on.
We have over 100 former lab students now. Here are a few from the last class. Shakera Walker , now getting her PhD at University of Maryland in Neuroscience is co-authoring a stats book that is meant to be student friendly. Former Lab Manager Brianna D'Elia exemplified excellence. She is now in dental school, as is Amanda Disney. We've published on music, on fruit flies, on musical fruit flies, hockey, callosotomy patients, and even legos. At the end of the day, we hope we advanced science and helped students discover their inner Jane Goodall.
